As a Nation we must vehementlly condem this so called War Crime Report.
This "Noda Kin Moon" should get lost.
If anyone gets "Choooong" this against Rajapakshas, it is wrong. This is against to the entire Nation.

We must protest against this "Noda Kin Moon's" Pacha Report.

MAHINDA RAJAPAKSA
Age: 65
Occupation: President of Sri Lanka
Previous TIME 100 appearances: 0

Since ending Sri Lanka's 26-year-long war against the Tamil Tigers in 2009, and grabbing control over once independent institutions like commissions on human rights and elections, Mahinda Rajapaksa has come to dominate the institutions of his nation more than any other democratically elected head of state. He challenged the U.S., the European Union and the U.N. to prosecute him for war crimes, confident that Russia, China and India would not support it — the latter two have billions of investment at stake in Sri Lanka.

I VOTED FOR THE PRESIDENT MAHINDA RAJAPAKSA..

It clear that UN is acting under some big forces( pressures) over this war crime issue. There are multiple instances in the past and present where human right violation happened/happans with 'certain other countries" in War situations. UN was quiet then. WHy was that. It should be clear.

The nice thing is Sri Lanka too has suporting heavy weight countries which opposes these forces at the UN council if they try to play too smart.

. But if there is a war as the adage says "All is fair in Love and War". I am not saying war is good. . Let face it no war is nice. I am peaceful guy but is this probe consistent with how UN acted with other wars? We know the answer.

Agree with all comments except for the first comment. Although this is not a forum for these issues , this is a national issue. It has a direct or indirect impact on what we discuss here. Since 2009 we have achieved something and we are continuing to achieve things whcih we could not achived in the past. In short we are on our way for greater heights as a nation. In such a situation can we look away and do our day today work without focusing on an imminent threat to a nation which is rising from ashes of 20 or more years of violence in this tiny country?...

I think we should be able to see beyond our portfolio positions and look and analyse at external environments to see how such events will impact our day today trading and make a contribution in some form to neutralise that threat.

These reports are unwanted at these times and there are much more serious things have had happened and happening in all over the world. Then why this tiny nation at this time. There is definitley hidden agendas behind this report and on the directions of bigger nation(s) with malicious intent...........

I do not know politics. Best thing is work with western nations when we see the events taking place in Libya Ivory coast etc…

Sri Lanka has not gone against any nation. ....People also should maintain peace and democracy, and then nobody can interfere.
I think government will tactfully handle these small problems.... CSE has nothing to fear. CSE has overcome much difficult problems. No need to discuss politics. Political maturity in this country is good enough, they would handle them effectively..

It is shame and amazing why these infants can not understand the Politics is directly link with the stock market.
If the country has a stable political environment and leadership, automatically the country’s stock market and other economic rates will go up. This is basics in economics.
Why Sri Lankan stock market was collapse during the war period. Because country was unsafe. Political environment was not stable. Then who can talk about stock market, economy without politics.
Why Afganistan, Iraq, Libia stock markets are not going up. Because these countries are heavily affected by the western and UN.

These kind of people was during "rajakale" like Ehelepola.(Currently Wickramabahu) .If these people were during colonial period in Ceylon we could not get the freedom from the British.Because it is harmful to talking about politics.

Shame...Shame...Shame....

Exactly...politics has direct influence on the performance of the share prices..that's what we call political risk.. when the country is facing this kind of probes it will definitely affect the market also. when we discuss the politico situation in the forum like this we can not be biased toward our political orientations, infact we should act as an independent fellow trying to look at the implications of the political issues and a possible impact to the CSE, remember this forum is not for anything else but discussion on CSE.

but what I'm repeatedly telling is we are on a forum dedicated to discuss things related to CSE, yes the countries political situation affects the market direction should/must be discussed. i have no objection on that also.

but what I'm telling is we have to maintain some professional standard here, we must not use offensive and improper word.

Using JVP kind of slogans in this forum is not acceptable

and

for pointing out that I have rewarded with couple of negative reps and named INFANT...

What I'm repeatedly telling is to maintain a standard in the post you are making.
+
hope you have understood my point..

Most things are directly linked with stock market that does not mean we talk about them all here! If people want to bring political views and promote their favorite politicians at least make another section saying " stock market politics " or something like that ! As the moderators also seems keen on it, I don't see why they would not make the effort to do that !

Since it is no need to talk separately. If we go this extend we have to create Stock market-Tsunami,Stock market-Weather,Stock Market-Oil,Stock market-Awurudu,Stock Market-X Mas.Because all are related with the stock market

You are so oblivious to the point m8! Not everyone like talking about politics and some have very strong opinions that can not be changed by facts! Also the same moderators here posting about politics have previously have asked us to refrain from talking about politics on this forum! GO check the post history!

Hey Guys

This topic is one of the most talked about topic in Sri Lanka today. Therefore it is fair to allow such topic being discussed in this forum. In the past we have allowed topic such as "Cricket World Cup" to be discussed in this forum. So it is with the same spirit we have kept this topic open for further discussions.

But we would like if members could take little more effort and care in respecting contrary view points expressed by other members. Freedom of Expression is one of the most valued fundamental rights under our constitution and we need to respect that.

Further in order to bring more sanity into the discussion we have changed the Topic Name to a more appropriate and acceptable one.

I think we need to answer for the alligations with facts and figures in deplomatic manner as a initial strategy rather going for a street protest first.

With the libya situation in full flow, i highly doubt any one really cares about this. Ban Ki basically wants his tenure at the UN to amount to something, which it hasn't so far, and he thinks he can be a hero if he some how starts fiasco over here.

What infuriates me about this is that while this country tries to move on there are all these people, most of whom have only a sparse association with SL, try to open up a wound that is starting close. The future of this country & the resolution of whatever ethic problems our society has can never be achieved with this grand exercise of grave digging. it achieves nothing other than dragging people back into the past.
