When the main share is around 200, shouldn't the preference shares be close to that? Preference shares get normal dividend + 0.1 cents. So practically higher dividend for preference shares. But no voting rights.

Check their prospectus.

They are not convertible
non voting
non redeemable non cumulative
normal shares dividend + 10 cents dividend (if normal share dividend is 2rs, preference share holders will get 2.1rs)

Noncumulative Preferred Stock

Preferred stock for which the publicly-traded company does not need to pay all dividends. If a company misses a dividend payment for any reason, it no longer owes the dividend to noncumulative preferred stockholders. That is, all dividends that were "skipped" are treated as if they never existed. Noncumulative preferred stocks are rare because they are unattractive to preferred stock investors.

http://financial-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Non-Cumulative+Preference+Share

What is non redeemable preference shares?

When a company issues a preference share with say a 6% dividend, it might like to retire those shares if its credit quality goes up or interest rates go down. Lots of preferred stock is issued with call provisions so that if the company feels that it can refinance the preferred stock at a lower rate that it can call or "redeem" you preferred stock. Since they do it at their option, an investor doesn't like that (you have given them a call on something you own - never good).

Non-redeemable means that the company can't call it back no matter what they might want to do. If they want to retire that stock, they are just going to have to buy it in the market for whatever is the appropriate price.

I guess non-redeemable also means that it wouldn't be puttable back to the company by the investor, but if puttable preferred stock exists I don't know about it.

I think they have to convert those preference shares to voting shares if they going to merge or they have to remove them from the equity somehow due to it can make complexities in merge.

Also SFL P have to trade around 73 when the price of SFL N reach 220 today. We saw that the market gave 1/3 times value to the SFL P in term of SFL N.

In the last run it reached 56 and came down to 52.50 level and hanged their before it reach 70, so this time it hit 70 and now at 63, so possible support is around 60-63. Possible to run again sooner due to bull run.

Today I put a buy order For SFL.P. Not filled yet. By the way how is this share?? I just had a rough look at their figures. In their latest report their auditors has raised an issue about a provision made regarding vehicle trading.
Other than that it looks impressive.
Is there anybody who had a closer look at this SFL.P??
