Yesterday addressing SATANA  TV program on MTV the UNP economic advisor Harsha De Silva said the direct taxes should be increased to increase government tax revenue from current 11% of GDP to 17 % of GDP. This is going to be a huge tax burden on individuals and corporates. TAXES that will go up include  PAYE taxes of all of us, Corporate Taxes, Share Transaction Taxes amongst many others. For example he is planning to dole out money to the public sector employees by way of Rs 10,000 increase  (  1.4 million employees x12  means  Rs 168 Billion per year) by taxing private sector employees. This is what is called robbing peter to pay Paul......... KELYA NEDA THAPPETA ?

at the moment we paying 7% interest for some project.

Normally Government can borrow money 0.5% interest. UNP government can get loans from UK and US specially and other western countries.

from this 6.5% additional interest can save and also can save more money(Corruptions)
