The statistics from the trading floor of the CSE yesterday were as follows:

ASPI: 7,078.66 (-44.07 pts; -0.62%); Val T/O: Rs. 659.7mn (US$4.9mn); Vol T/O: 16.8mn; 

Trades:5,237

Advance/decline ratio: 67/134; Top gainer: LHCL.N (+9.79%); Top loser: CHL.N (-22.02%)

Highlights:

l The ASPI ended lower amid subdued activity levels. Declines exceeded advances by 2:1 at market close, including sharp drops in JKH and SAMP which collectively accounted for nearly 40% of the day’s turnover.


l Banks, Finance & Insurance was the most actively traded sector (-0.68%)

l Construction & Engineering was the best performing sector (+1.37%), supported by gains on AEL (+1.89%)

l Information technology was the worst performing sector (-4.05%), dragged down by a decline in ECL (-2.17%) - (JKSB)
