The Labour and Trade Union Ministry has already received about 200 complaints relating to salaries (Act No 3 of 2016 and Act No. 4 of 2016).
The Spokesperson said that while many factories in Free Trade Zones (FTZ) have paid the salary increase, certain of the private sector companies had not.
He added that private sector companies must pay employees the salary increase of Rs. 2,500, the failure of which is a violation of the law, warranting legal action.
