DVP MARKET POSITIVE

Irrational issue created on the subject. DVP will have no impact on the external operating envt for traders. No impact on credit, cost, day-trading

It will bring #CSE 1-step closer to the EM status by reducing risk, resulting in increased foreign investor confidence

If i sell something at profit, and on 3rd day during settlement if the share price is not favouring buyer's earlier decision and he refuses to settle, will the original trade is cancelled. Can't seller get his money for his original decision. This is unfair.

As per Current system either buyer pay or not, seller is guaranteed of cash since broker has to pay on his own account. Is DVP is simply transferring settlement risk of the broker to the seller.

Can anyone explain on my 1st paragraph

In a nutshell DVP is more of a system change for brokers in relation to physical transfer of shares. The purpose of this globally accepted mechanism is to minimize settlement risk and also serves as a fillip to CSE in order to move towards EM status. Everything will remain same including access to credit.

There are plenty of press articles, you tube presentations in relation to DVP and in addition one could call CSE and also clarify doubts during office hours. Hope this will be of help.
