The Sri Lankan team's performance in the World Cup gave me one more reason to be proud to be Sri Lankan.

They lost the finals, but - with their spirited performance - won the admiration of viewers around the world. Sangakkara was graceful in defeat and his resignation as captain is to give the next generation a chance.

Let's not belittle their great deeds with undue criticism...

Players were excellent, they reached the finals, and they played finals well. Kulasekeras catch was a difficult chance, under lights it is not very easy to judge, even in the day light it is not easy to judge. Mahela scored an unbeaten hundred, they played extremely well.

It is extremely important to identify if there were any weaknesses and correct them. If there are any weaknesses and if they go unnoticed same thing can happen in 2015 and 2019. Everybody hope there were no weakness and every thing in cricket was perfect this time. Game of Cricket and the future for the game is important for the good image of the nation. I think future is bright for Sri Lanka and for the game of cricket.

England tour starts on 26th of May, first match starts on 26th, players need adequate time to overcome jetlag, they need to travel at least 5 days prior to that, on or before 21st. How can a newly organized team prepare for a tour abroad in fast bouncy wickets by returning from India on 20th of May? Not very satisfactory for the game of cricket. Hope they will start practice sessions as early as possible.
