Trade Summary Market - 10/05/2012 1005_t10

May 10, 2012 (LBT) - Bourse lost steam throughout the day as a heavy selling spree was witnessed once again owing to retail panic and margin selling. The benchmark ASPI shed 92.85 points to close at 5,163 whilst the MPI of more liquid stocks shed 69.85 points to close at 4,644. Total turnover for the day was over 403 mn (Approximately USD 3.1 million) Total volume traded was close to 22 mn shares.

No block trades were witnessed during the day, but a heavy selling spree was witnessed on most of the caps which in turn helped the indices take a major blow. Market heavyweight JKH was the top contributor for the day as it contributed over 79mn towards the days turnover. The counter traded close to 400,000 shares between Rs.199 and Rs.197.10 and closed the day at Rs.197.90 shedding 1% for the day.

Leisure sector cap AHUN saw about 400,000 shares change hands on the normal board at Rs.70. Aitken Spence hotels pumped over 29mn towards the days tally and closed at Rs.70 shedding 0.30 cents. Further caps as COMB,CTC,DFCC and KGAL contributed material amounts towards the days turnover. Much volatility was seen on speculative cap CLND as it traded its quantities between Rs.34 and Rs.38.80. The counter contributed over 21mn towards the days turnover and closed at Rs.36 gaining 2.84% for the day.
