Capital trust is the 2nd major shareholder, if they have sold 5Mn shares which means there won't be any manipulation or anything of that sort.
In other words share prices might come down further.

Beside what is the source???

Some days i go the floor - WTC - People there were taking about it i mean the major players and brokers also said that CIFL will come down again but Hit back like last time and so on

Reasons :

some party is going to infuse 1 billion & CIFL is going to issue shares as a security to them
and they are planing to issue FD holders Shares @ a high price Before March 31 year end so these are the reasons given

කිව්වත් නහී, නොකිව්වත් නහී..

9 months EPS = - 1.77
Net Assets per share = - Rs. 6.67
Return on Equity = - 26.56%

1 & 2 shareholder - ASPIC CORPORATION (not Capital Trust)

Previous 2nd large shareholder, M.A.D. Perera, has shed some of his holdings to retailers Wink

ASPIC CORPORATION is the main owner of CIFL. They had bought the second lot thru finance facility with courtesy of CAPITAL TRUST CREDIT (PVT) LTD.

Its good if you can do the homework before speculating lol!

හැබැයි ඉතින් ගොඩ එන්න බැරිමත් නැහැ අවුරුදු 2 න්.

So you want to know the CIFL story.

There is a lot of mis-information about the CIFL ownership. CIFL used to be IDL. It was bought by ASPIC and hence it is not a simple rename.

However ASPIC has its own controversy. Check the comments at the bottom of this article:

Hi All

Please do not mislead the innocent Investors because you are too greedy to pick at cheap cost. You will have to pay for these stupid one day. There are four bids currently under consideration of CIFL. So the most viable bid will be selected by the CIFL. Thanks to CBSL as a part of restructuring has referred all these prospective buyers to CIFL with confidence so that there will be no doubt about the capital reorganisation. Finance Companies License are not issued for the new entrants to the Industryby the CBSL now so still there is a intangible value of the Company and the License.

CBSL has given the buyers a deadline March 31st 2013 as the process of capital reorganization finalization and CIFL to come up with their future plans of the existing business to co-operate the acquisition.

This is not a promotion, a true story.

Even if this story is true it cannot be good news to CIFL shareholders.

The share price has come down to such a low level that the required capital injection would wipe out existing shareholders. -> Note that capital raising should be done when the share price is high (hence should JKH issue rights etc)

Nothing short of a capital injection will help CIFL. Even if deposits are converted to shares, every1 else is diluted.

The other thing is that Finance Companies incur quite a lot in expenditure. The expenditure should comes from net interest income. Hence CIFL has to 1) get new capital and 2) give out high interest loans to every man and his dog.
