Plantation sector under value.

Rapaport:- that means all economy is struggle. then stock market should go down. why is this one going to up.
Business meaning is Risk management. at the moment economy is not bad. only worry about "Electricity costs" but its not highly effect to industrial level.

Electricity costs:- highly effect to home users.

just look at ABAN ratios. u will be amazed to see it.

This is not the best time to buy. If you are buying at this level its better to go with very strong companies at a good price. So i think LLUB, SAMP, COMB, HNB, PLC, JINS as good options. Though those current prices decreases those are future winners surely.

Plantations are under values at trailing P/E, but not sure for forward P/E.

At the moment most favorable conditions are being created for bond trading and hydro power.

With improved tea production and prices in the first quarter of 2013, Plantation stocks will be more undervalue after releasing last quarter result. But i think investors are waiting till current quarter result due to wage revision.

In the global arena alot of cash is being pulled out of commodities and bonds etc and being put into stocks.
This is one of the reasons we are getting tit bits into our market as well which is barely nothing in terms of global foreign investment into emerging markets
Our stock market is going through a natural phenomena and stock market rises before the economy rises.
With Electricity tariff hikes, economy can improve with reduced govt spending and reduced inflation and stable currency. This is yet to happen and maybe thats wht the stock market is moving in anticipation.

I would never stop investing in stocks.

All i meant was in the short to medium term Banks and Finance sector will be the least impacted with the negatives going on in our economy.

Electricity tariff hike is a major hike and its impact will be felt in quarters to come.

SAMP seems to be the one with lower P/E, why there isn't much interest in that?

Banking seams GOOOD. I too have some SAMP shares, and it increased rapidly today, after dropping with the dividends.
