TB rates are coming down much faster in recent weeks. One year TBs has fallen by 2.85% so far in 2013, out of this 2.32 % in the last six months. Now the figure stands at 8.53%. One year TBs fallen to 7.2% in 2010/11. 2014 may record the lowest TB rates in recent history.

Though rates in government securities fallen, big time fixed income investors had better options in corporate debentures. Debentures sucked up more than 75 billion rupees in 2013.

What will happen in 2014? Falling interest rates will definitely add color to corporate bottom lines creating enthusiasm in real investors.

I feel some drastic change could happen in the equity market with lot of excitement in 2014.

Open for a good discussion;

The year 2013 was predicted a good year for equity and most major markets reached new heights.We had a mixed year.In 2014 world markets will be on bearish mode and CSE will go other way.There will be IPO's too.

I think 2014 will be eventful. But I don't expect miracles to happen. With the introduction of new rule on free float, the market will give good opportunities for investors.
Normally in a falling interest environment we expect new funds to draw in to capital market. Debt market being more aggressive this time all the funds were attracted in to debentures i guess.

Once the cash ( quick liquidity ) is blocked with debenture kind of investment which are more profitable as long term investment, over the shaky market conditions, is it correct to say that demand for consumable items may fall, thereby inflation is controlled directly or directly?
