If we get good news all group on move, as u said GREG.W0002 and GREG.W0006 would give a return comparing to others, since the public quote is less

today u can see

GREG.W0002 = 12% gain
GREG.W0006 = 13%

Whereas GREG.N000 is gained about 9%. However these warrants fluctuation is depend on ordinary share movement.

Can they impose price bands for this today?

What is the percentage change for that?

You mean 3 broker companies say it'll go above 100? great Smile

I think it's due to the reason that, SEC is about to give the decision on that greg issue(that's what I heard)

Wow, Tomorrow will be the GREG day... As we expected this is good news for the GREG Lovers.

This sale of foreign investment will enable GREG to release from long standing issues with SEC. The next Wednesday GREG too may receive the letter from SEC.

This sale of investment will bring the Cash inflow of Rs. 2.2Bn with the capital gain Rs.190Mn.

Big News From GREG While A Decision On Broker Credit Regulation Is Pending!!!

GREG yesterday in a surprise move applied to the Central Bank and the Ministry of Finance for permission to dispose of their entire holding in Environmental Resources BVI Limited realizing a significant capital gain of US$ 1.7 million, possibly in order to avoid future misunderstandings. The proposed buyer is an entity which is beneficially owned by the majority shareholder in GREG, Lion Hart International which was declared the most successful hedge fund in Europe and the second best in the world last year. Lion Hart continues to be the majority owner of GREG and with the resolution of the regulatory issues they are most likely to embark on an ambitious investment programme in Sri Lanka to benefit from the greatly improved investment climate in this country. With US and European markets plunging in an unprecedented nose dive this strategic move by GREG and Lion Hart is expected to benefit GREG.

A decision is eagerly awaited on the proposals and representations made by the CSBA to the SEC specially allowing Broking firms to lend their excess funds above the minimum net capital requirement(Leveraging zero times). We hotly expect that a favourable decision from the regulators could be received before the end of next week.

In the US the S&P an impressive 51 points pull back cutting off previous day’s losses. This roller coaster ride in global markets is likely to continue for some time. Asian and European markets are likely to follow suit today. Prudent fund managers would however think seriously about moving Eastwards especially towards emerging markets with high growth potential such as ours.

We shall SWING!!! with the GREG Group today. But we shall of course not forget our old favourites such as ECL, CLND, CSD, LITE, EAST, OGL , CLND and BLUE

Market Pulls Back Sharply As Brokers Are Yet To Come To Terms With The Newly Relaxed Margin Lending Regulations!!!

Many brokers were not sure of the way their ‘net liquid capital’ as stated in the newly relaxed margin lending regulations are calculated. Without a clear idea of this new net liquid capital calculation most of them were seen selling on T+3 or forced selling on T+5. It will take a little more time for most of them to come to terms with the correct interpretation of the new regulations relating to margin lending. Of course several brokers without any net liquid capital will still not be able to lend even under the new regulations that came into effect last Monday. We are glad to announce that Capital Trust has sufficient funds to refrain from forced selling except where the client margins exceed the allowed 50% limit.

GREG issue may have been sorted out finally when the SEC met on Friday. The result will appear on the SEC website either today or tomorrow and may possibly published on the CSE website as well. Popular stock bashing may continue this week with added vigour undeterred by the imposition of price bands. CLPL may be pushed up ahead of the warrant maturity payment date.

US market fell yet again on Friday confirming its long term bearish sentiment. Another recession in North America and Europe is now almost confirmed. Perhaps this is the beginning of a new economic order that is emerging in the world which is Asia-centric. With the strong possibility of a national government and unprecedented move towards interethnic amity and camaraderie between the different ethnic groups in the country, Sri Lanka could easily be the best emerging market economy in the new world order. S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) attached illustrates vividly the impending cataclysmic fall in Western markets.
Friday’s pull back brought the RSI’s of ASI & MPI daily charts the middle of the neutral territory at 57 & 55. The neutral market could easily stage an impressive upsurge on the arrival of a suitable trigger.
