May I ask why u have decided to invest in Medical / Hospitality Trade?
Those who have already invested feel the BP high already.

What about Holding Companies with Hospital's as reserves for injecting of profits?

Although the numbers for the health care industry is not impressive, I was wondering if there were some hidden treasure within them.

Holding Companies with Hospital's as reserves for injecting of profits? Could u break that sentence up for me plz?

MR, That's true, when we get "young" (Like chairman of CARG), we will need medicare and with the aging populace increasing in Sri Lanka, average life span increase (Hopefully not as much as Japan which is 76-78 years) sri lankans will be flocking into hospitals for medicare and it will be a MEGA business. Say, how much do you value your life? Can you put down a value? Absolutely not! A person who is contemplating suicide may may state LKR 20 Mio. - 100 Mio.

A day will come (Has come) that it will be compulsary for all companies to provide medical benefits to its employees. The disposable income of many a Sri Lankan has increased and they are willing to pay an average bill of Rs. 50,000/- per year for some medical attention.eg. cataract op. costs same.

Insurance will be compulsary for all the populace especially income generators or working population.

There are so many flu's viruses etc that are waiting to be launched in the coming years and it needs only a trigger to invoke the misery for all of us.

Where will all of us end up?

Now you can answer that question about where insurance companies are heading.

Please remember to renew/increase the options of your life policy or else the Hospital will pull the plug out when the maximum value of your entitlement has been exceeded!!! Crying or Very sad

Health sector companies can't deliver rapid growth. They are growing very slowly.Because, State health sector is extensively strong and deliver free service with a very good quality(comparing with other government services and even with most private hospitals)
how can a business can grow when another party giving that products for free.

RockStock, Angelo Matthew's is considered a valuable player in the SL team since he is an all rounder. Same goes with investing. One needs to be an all rounder and one (new/old) Management tactic is to do a "Walk through" and find out for yourself test. This means that one must visit Arsiri, NHL, Durdans, Heamas to see the form.

There is nothing free. Those who go to Govt. Hospitals pay with their lives. If you know some high ranking Doctors then you may be assured of a bed and long life. If not, putha, you end up at AFR, BR, or any sundry malshalawa and ultimately kanatte!

So if one values his / her own life, then think twice. If they are poor, then is very sad, but some smart people can go to Otara and she will definitely help out. Lalith in deep shit at the moment and all his gregrariuos and philanthrofic deeds have ceased. (I am not a supporter of Lalith by the way)

I personnaly removed the body of one person whom I know from a paying hospital. This hospital charges the patient for services that were never recieved and medication given long after the patient had died. (Dont't ask for details) Also, there were about 10 different doctors who attended on him and most of them had not been requested to. So that's the potential of the Hospitality trade!

hybrid_OS, Dude I really didn't get the message of your post. Can you be more precise

I was telling that the state hospital are giving good service to public despite some limitations.in such an environment can private hospitals grow rapidly. I hope you know that even people who go for private hospitals as they are not crowded and more comfortable rooms etc. when their illness worsens they tend to go back to the government hospital. I also have a personal experience; one of my friend admitted to a private hospital with a severe illness , but the private hospital people advised him to go to a state hospital as he is critical now. This shows the current positions of State vs Private hospitals in Sri Lanka
