What a ridiculous idea ? Always trying to say the most unacceptable idea. That is why this party is/will be at the bottom of the pit without any sign of recovary.Sandstorm wrote:Oct 26, 2011 (LBT) - Sri Lanka's main opposition United National Party (deleted) today said the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) was being manipulated with the hard earned savings of the working class in the Employees Provident Fund.

We may not like the PLC IPO but EPF will subscribe to it as well and if price goes down it will be a fiasco.. Then again by 2-3 years time the company may do well with the expected development in SL so ultimately EPF will have no problems..
But if they have good analyzers its not rocket science to understand the direction of the market is not stable, so rather than going for foolish investments at higher prices, they can wait and invest at a near bottom and earn massive amount at the end..
Its our hard earned money after all in a pool...
Rajaraam wrote:Dear friends, EPF is a Fund and their money should be invested somewhere safely. According to the CB Boss only about 7% of EPF money has invested in stock market. We know about few purchases of shares concluded recently in GRAN, LGL and few others .(Prices of these counters have fallen). How much they have earned from other shares? We do not know. Even in our PF we can see more red and little green. That is applied to EPF or any other HNWIs too these days. Other point is not like you and me they want to buy big quantities. Therefore EPF or similar investor will have to negotiate with a large scale shareholder and sometimes they will have to buy at a higher price than the market price. I dont think this is a big issue.
