Earnings per share were Rs 4.12 compared to Rs 3.97 a year back.
Sales rose 17.3 percent to Rs 10.4 bn, the company said in a stock exchange filing. Revenue from its agriculture and livestock business rose to nearly Rs 7 bn during first half FY2012 from just over Rs 6 bn the year before.
Operating profit from the segment was also up 11 percent during the period to Rs 645 mn.
The consumer and pharmaceutical segment contributed Rs 2.2 bn to revenue, up 29 percent year on year.
Other income fell 42 percent to 55.8 million rupees during the period
The group’s financial leverage grew to 84 percent from 72 percent a year back, attributed to capacity improvements in the agriculture and livestock segment and intensified market penetration of the consumer and pharmaceutical segment.
In the September 2011 quarter, CIC Holdings said net profit fell 11 percent to Rs 243 mn from a year ago with sales up 10 percent to Rs 5.1 bn.
