BRC Partnership, a consultancy based in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland, is to provide management training and coaching for businesses in Sri Lanka, the British high commission said in a statement.
The firm has signed a joint venture deal following an Invest Northern Ireland (Invest NI) trade mission to India and Sri Lanka in April this year.
BRC will work with a former chairman of the Council for Business with Britain (CBB) in Sri Lanka, Anil Wijesinghe, a Sri Lankan businessman interested in developing professional business training in the island.
Alan George, BRC’s Business Development Manager, said their participation in the recent Invest NI trade mission to Sri Lanka enabled them to assess opportunities in the market and to make contact with several potential clients.
"The Invest NI mission helped us to identify a potential partner. We are now working on designing leadership and training programmes that suit the specific needs of Sri Lankan companies and their individual managers.”
Vicky Kell, Invest NI Trade Director said the joint venture deal was "an important success" for a Northern Ireland company specialising in professional services.
Post-war Sri Lanka is a market "that is developing rapidly and in which businesses are particularly keen to secure knowledge and expertise, particularly in key areas such as management and leadership.”
