Cabraal specifically mentioned input into the equity market. Some say that Temsec Singapore are going to come in big.( Don't know the credibility of that.)

I think if the inflated junk falls down to where it belongs, serious investors would be more confident too, I would be.

Ranasinghe declined to say how much is expected to come in, but the central bank in October said it was expecting $1 billion from foreign investors mainly into equities, corporate debt and banks.

CSE road shows are planned end of the month in Singapore and Malaysia and if we have to attract investors from there, we will have to tell a better story than their country and show a good value market. Currently trading at 15.48X CSE data not adjusted for Sept results. If adjusted it is 14X or so. Maybe market is being brought down! LOL

And somebody has to give chunks of shares to these foreigners at bargain prices. hmmm.... EPF????

Cheers!

This comment is quiet interesting. May be authorities purposely wanted to show that CSE is not overvalued to outsiders to attract investments.

I do not agree the way government behave now.But this is not the Lybia or MR is not Gaddhafi.

You forgot that all the people who lead the war are in prisons or sent abroad! Even during war Sri Lanka had a law and order in these parts!

No Gaddhafi did some positive things during his rule! He had others motives than to make him the and his family the richest in the world!

This comment has seen many times. Can you be specific as to what rules should be relaxed.

1. price band rule
2. no broker credit rule

Budget won't be a trigger as it appears, this budget could bring the stability to the market in terms of direction. So looking upto the next trigger, hopefully credit relaxation.

I have no faith about the budget. Everything looks gloomy to me (short term).

As i heard there is no oil. But there is gas.
first they said oil at its early stages. Now they found gas from its 2nd well.

As a Sri Lankan I hope they won't say that there's no commercial value of this project. pale
