ASI closing price

the CSE website says that the ASI is down .12% @ 5988, but according to direct FN & cse.lk charts it should be around 6007. how does this work out?

CSE website calculates closing ASI based on the volume weighted average price (VWAP) based on trades executed during the last one hour of trading.
Other systems would have the ASI based on the last transaction for the day; this will get updated in due course.

Must be due to dial trading pattern. Most of the time it remained @7.90 or 8. But during 13.30-13.40 heavily traded @7.80

Antonym is correct, after market closes CSE website shows 'Volume Weighted Average Price' and the Indexes are calculated accordingly. This prevents last minute index manipulation as it takes a average of the traded price for the last 2 hours (not exactly sure).

if the market goes up radically in the last 15 minutes, after this calculation the indexes will come down a bit. also if the market drastically go down in the last few minutes of trading, after this calculation the indexes will come up a bit.

this is good, otherwise imaging how the manipulators will use the last few minutes of the day to end the day as they want.
