SL to take a final decision on Broker Credit limit by next Monday.
Sri Lanka’s Securities and Exchange Commission says a final decision on the rule imposed on broker credit limit will be taken on the 16th of this month, which is the first trading day of the next week.
This decision has been taken during the 294th meeting of the SEC Commission which has been held today.
Last year, the heads of the local Stock Brokerages met President Mahinda Rajapaksa and requested him to remove or relax some of the regulations imposed by SEC on share trading at the Colombo Stock Exchange.
One of the requests was to extend the credit limits which the brokers can lend to the market.
