SEC moves to regulate yet another websiteThe Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has launched investigations into yet another website dishing out stock market information, following a complaint by a High Networth Investor (HNWI) saying this website has defamed him, SEC sources said.

They said that the HNWI had complained to the capital market regulator that the comments in the website has alleged about his share transactions, which were baseless. After warnings against misleading investors by SEC, investnow.lk, decided to close in late January. SEC sources told the Business Times that they were also monitoring other websites that offer advice on investing in the stock market.

“Some of these sites can disseminate information which can lead to share manipulations, which is a main reason to monitor them,” a SEC source said.
What could be the site and who do you think the said investor?

I am not able to determine the source or authenticity of this news item; can someone please enlighten me?

Be that as it may, we need to be careful about what we post on this forum, especially when it pertains to giving stock 'recommendations' and naming big-time investors.

The moderators and senior members are doing a great job of controlling the flow. But methinks we all need to pull up our socks a wee bit. Moderators: When in doubt, just delete any posts that venture too close to the borderline. Let's keep this forum alive!

SEC moves to regulate yet another website

I think this is the where everyone was naming a certain prominent investor on the share Holder lists of BFL and PCH of being a manipulator aka Market watch ....

THis was posted on many sites including this during the time the PCH debacle was on and Investnow was asked to close.

Anyways this site is protected by a disclaimer and is regulated very well.

What ever written here is public knowledge . I wonder way do people worry about website content this much ? . how about rumors and other sources of information available to high net investors ? who is going to control them ? . we must protect this forum as this forum is doing greats to the small invertors !
