Sri Lanka’s NDB Bank has recorded a net profit of Rs. 2 billion during the financial year 2011, a 32% growth compared to year 2010.

The Bank’s profit before tax for the year stands at Rs. 3.36 billion, only a marginal improvement of 0.22% when compared with the year 2010 figures.

Its total income has increased by 15% in 2011 amounting to a figure of Rs. 13.5 billion, which is a 15.45% growth compared to Rs. 11.72 billion earned during 2010.

The Bank’s net interest income during the concluded financial year has seen a growth of 18.35% to reach Rs. 4.487 billion, compared to 3.791 billion achieved in 2010.

NDB’s net other income has grown by 6.19% year on year to stand at Rs. 2.19 billion.

While the Bank has earned a net income of Rs. 6.68 billion in 2011 compared to Rs. 5.85 billion achieved in 2010, which is a 14.06%.

The gross loan portfolio of the Bank has grown by an unprecedented 43% during the said year to surpass Rs .100 bn.

While its non performing loans have increased marginally by 0.66% during the year 2011 to stand at a total of Rs. 1.36 billion.

Meanwhile the NDB Group’s profit has gone up to Rs. 2.941 billion in 2011, compared to Rs. 2.17 billion earned in year 2010.

The Group’s income has increased 16% to Rs. 14.7 billion while Profit before taxation has seen a growth of 6% to reach Rs 4.6 billion.

Profit attributable to shareholders during the year 2011 stands at Rs 2.7 billion a growth of 29%.
