Please let me know some shares for a long run. I understood collecting should be a slow one. Any special reason for your buyings? Thanks

@Carolis: I think your 50:50 strategy is good. I suggest that the FD should be for 3 months at a time, renewable on maturity.
There are some beaten-down shares that (I believe) have the potential to double in 2 years; do your own research and choose wisely.

Since sold all my live shares, RHL is the only counter I have been collecting for long term.
To my eyes this is still an untapped mid cap counter.

Few years ago RHL was mainly just another investment fund but gradually they have been transforming to a diversified group. Their aggressive expansion is a mix of new entities as well as grown companies
Currently RHL trades just below its NAV & more than 50% down from 52 weeks high

Recent acquisitions/joint ventures. 76% richlife via RAL 505 million, 50% MCshaw Automotive, 62% Shaw Wallace Marketing for 368 million. I guess for the size of RHL these acquisitions are significant.

Also RAL & COCO both under its belt.

However I don’t except exceptional Q4 2011 & Q1 2012 results. Admin cost could be high due to recent Richlife acquisition.

I think SFS is better below Rs 9.00 and keep up to December,
'cos its just after split and below book value of Rs 14.
Also its GOLD

Yes, to me these two shares are overvalued. They are manipulating the shares due to low liquidity. People who bought these two shares two-three months back are selling.

I say what??? rendeer

NAV 14/- was before 1:20 split.

and there is no reason that a share should move up just because it was split

further, it was trading at lower prices 'just after split'

AND - it is NOT gold

A share split means, the net asset per share also get reduced by the same proportion. SFS NAV is now bellow Rs.1/-.

Since we are interested in long term investments, i would give more priority to future investments that are under way. My list would be;

VONE
TJL
RWSL
CITW

In 1 or 2 years time these company's investments will generate new revenue steams to its core business as result.

Some one or we really need to do that. Every share holder can attend the AGM. that may be the time to do it. AGM should be round the corner......
