I don't have any news on speculator friendly rules... But what this market needs is investor friendly policies, so that fresh funds enter the market for the long term - and prevent any further decline.

Regulators (SEC & CSE) will introduce rules by time to time.. but the best thing they have to do is implement the rules and regulation. for a example, interim financial reports has to submit on or before 31st May .. there are a lot of listed companies havent submit it.. so what.... who can protect the investor while having two faces...

without speculators ...you will not find much needed liquidity in the market. so we need both the longterm investor and the day traders, for the day traders to be active you need short selling so they will make money on both bull n bear market. Very Happy

We will hopefully see something hapening towards the end of june with regard to market recovery. Laughing until such time im cautiosly loading bounce

@traderathome: I completely agree with you. Greater liquidity is essential in the market; but for this to happen, I believe that broker fees need to come down... This would encourage more speculation.

Nowadays, even if you buy at 100 and sell at 101 on the same day, the net result is a loss - due to broker fees. On the National Stock Exchange (in India), for example, the broker fees is only 0.1%.

I think CFD to be introduced to do short or long trading in Srilanka.
