Grain Elevators sell its stake in Ceylon Agro Industries

Ceylon Grain Elevators PLC has sold the 21.5% stake it held in the Ceylon Agro-Industries limited to Singapore based Prima Limited for a sum of Rs. 730.61 million.

The 21.5% stake represents 22,831,718 shares, which was each priced at Rs. 32.

A Stock market filing on the transaction said, Ceylon Grain Elevators will use the money raised out of this transaction to finance the working capital requirements of the company.

Prima Limited of Singapore is the major shareholder of Ceylon Grain Elevators, which is engaged in businesses such as processing and retailing of poultry products etc.

The transaction has taken place on the 29th of this month.
