Market turnover remained low in todays’ trading as well. Turnover for today was Rs. 196 million. Laufgs Gas non-voting continued to attract buying interest helped by its high dividend yield.
ASI gained by 12.58 points (0.26%) to close at 4,880.10, MPI lost marginally by 2.21 points (0.05%) to close at 4,308.81 whilst the S&P index gained 2.23 points (0.08%) to close at 2,775.09.
Most active counters for the day were Laufgs Gas non-voting and voting followed by HVA foods. Notable gainers for the day were Orient Garments Lanka up by 12.40% to close at Rs. 14.50, Capital Alliance Finance up by 12.13% to close at Rs. 30.50 and Laufgs Gas non-voting up by Rs. 1.40 to close at Rs. 16.40. Notable losers for the day were Richard Pieris Exports down by 5.80% to close at Rs. 19.50, Blue Diamonds non-voting down by 5.56% to close at Rs. 1.70 and Citizens Development Bank down by 5.08% to close at Rs. 28.
Top contributors to turnover were Laufgs Gas non-voting with Rs. 19 million, National Development Bank with Rs. 15 million and PCH Holdings with Rs. 12 million.
Foreign participation for the day was 15% and net inflow was Rs. 35 million.
