Not announced on CSE yet. Hot of the site.

http://www.cse.lk/cmt/upload_report_file/683_1343640929696.06.2012-1.pdf

There is drop in profit but mainly due to adjustments of investment values. Also admin and distribution expenses up. mainly due to Asia Siyaka Commodities acquisition.

No need to panic with the drop as it seems a one time issue.

Also note their finance sector Associate profits !

70% drop in company profits Qtr to Qtr. No need to panic ! Just hold on until the price drops a further 20%. Then drop and run. Good strategy #%&#$%*. Company profit reflects the performance of RCL s core business.

Most companies in the TILE sector may post unattractive results in the current quarter as their energy costs are high due to increase in kerosene prices. They can't pass the cost increase to the end customer due to prevailing over supply conditions.

I think RCL has managed to do well in these difficult times.
RCL is diversifying with a huge chunk in LFIN.
It is well poised for future construction boom and their quality is quite good!

Cheers!

Illuminati,

Presently I do not hold RCL.

Did you study the report and my comments above why the expenses are high before making sarcastic remarks ? Yes when a company is growing revenue , making acquisitions and also looking at diversifying ( it is another conversation to talk about a Tile maker diversifying into many areas) do you expect QoQ rowth always.

This share has dropped from Rs 160 to Rs 90. NAV is 65 and trading at PE of 5-6. So you want it to drop another Rs 15 is it just because this quarter show a drop QoQ? Okay maybe your wish can come true as long as sellers are there to panic and sell giving someone else the possibility get higher gain when the run comes at some point. We cannot control that.

But instilling unnecessary panic without looking at underlying reasons is not a good thing.

1) We usually look at Group profits. Also even if you are looking at company did you also notice why company profits dropped. There is a Rs 134 million Provision for fall in Value of Investments. Do you consider this reoccuring losses? Have not their Gross revenue and Gross profits grown.
2) At group level the report says that "Substantial increase in administrative expenses, Trade and other receivables and Trade and other payables in the group is mainly due to inclusion of Asia Siyaka Commodities Ltd result in this quarter". Due you think this is reoccuring and next quarters also .

I used to look at you comments with eager as you show us another side. I welcome negative and positive comments. But unnecessary sarcasm and talking negative without analysing why ( talk both sides) is not good.

I see you always critisizing every company. Is there no company which meets your targets? Please let us know we can study and we can benefit also as it has to be good. I presume you are also in the forum and commenting as you are interested at investing at CSE at some point right? I also understand from what you say that you do not have investments ar CSE now and expect market to drop further so you can collect then.Maybe it will happen,. Fine that is your choice. No problem. But do not instill panic without talking both angles. Please note like in life at CSE most companies have positives and negatives. We do not have to be always picking one side and been biased on it.

On the group level also note the Gross revenue and profit growth.

Reader make your own decesion. I only showed you reasons the Group say for the drop.

I'm not following RCL. I just want to mention that I also have a strong suspicion that illuminati is up to no good. As slstock mentioned, at some point I also had a keen interest on illuminati's posts. But recently his comments have become just sarcastic one liners... no facts or reasoning whatsoever. It almost certainly looks like you are attempting to instill fear among investors.

May be I'm wrong, may be you have some "higher purpose" here and you want to warn investors about an impeding disaster the country is going to face. But your approach almost certainly does NOT suggest that kind of a purpose.

In any case, I'm not asking you to stop posting. No! someone like you need to be posting regularly in order to keep the bull-mania in balance. But please be more informational... give reasons for people to think twice before investing blindly. A healthy dose of caution is probably vital to any investor, but attempting to instill fear like this is NOT helping!

Cheers!

I simply wish my comments could push a market down or upwards. The problem in this forum is that other than a few most have bought in to the market at the wrong time and carrying substantial losses. I still remember the very same people were predicting with similsr stories that the market has bottomed out when the ASI was around 6500 ! Readers can judge who is having the last laugh.

illuminati,

Your strategy seems to be to enter at the optimal time( is there such a thing am not sure) and exit at optimal. Investors sometimes hold through thick and thin their long term shares. Even considering this market drop I still have share that has given me 100-200% profit. I am happy to hold them as they are very good valuations. To balance off shocks we maintain short, medium, long term shares in your portfolio. We also do some trading. What happends if all those who hold long term shares abandon their company and sell off because of a bear trend irrespective their company is trading at beow NAV and below PE of 5. Look at Dr TS if you want a Sri lankan example. He rarely trades but he is more of an investor ( medium to long term). I am sure there are share he also bought at various stages (higher prices) but will he will not let his company down by selling off during bad times to optimize his earnings. He know with time he will make money. That is an investor. is it optimal, I don't know

Also even if you are a trader completely staying away from the market will let you miss opportunies.

I am sure you do not agree with my points as it will not bring you optimal profit ( short term) but i n the mean time some of us will help to keep the market going for you to return to and earning on trades for short term.
