Standard Chartered (Xetra: 859123 - news) shares tumbled by more than 15 percent in early morning trade on Tuesday after US regulators accused the lender of hiding $250 billion in transactions with Iranian banks.
Shortly after the open, the lender's share price slumped 15.37 percent to 1,244 pence on London's FTSE 100 (Euronext: VFTSE.NX - news) index of leading shares, which was flat overall in initial deals.
