I am new to the stock market.. I am thinking to invest about 1 million. What are the options for me...

stick with only IPO's ??? but I think I won't get shares for 1 million rupees in IPO's...

Can you guys let me know what are the best stocks for investing

Short term (less than one month holding time)

Medium term (3 months to 6 months )

Long term (6 month to one year ) And I would like to know what will be the returns in in each .....
I know it will be guesses .... Calculated guesses are welcome ..

Investment oriented PLCS like GUAR, CARS with massive investment funds could come out with substantial Quarter on Quarter growth reports next time, those PLCs took the advantage of March depression can perform well in the coming months. As it was observed, those PLCs seem to have already made substantial gains which seem to be further expanding,

There are lots of fundamentally sound shares, they should also moving shares. Some good shares take a long time to move. I have some TWOD holding on for years, one day they should recover and move upwards. I am looking for fundermentally strong and shares with momentum.

Almost all IPO are oversubscribed. there are many banking sector shares plantations and diversified shares with bargain prices at the moment.

Banks might pickup soon.

TWOD can do well after the court case.

Fundamentals as well as other factors such as institutional buying, participation of investment funds, law interest rates, foreign interests, overall economic performance, corporate earnings and investor sentiments all can play a role.

Thank you guys for your valuable advise..

Regarding BFL I see it is not a good buy because all directors are busy selling
http://www.cse.lk/welcome.htm
I may be wrong..

I am thinking to buy following equally distributed more or less

COMB, SEYB, NTB
HPWR
AHUN,BBH
CARS,DIST,LION
GREG and WAPO (only few for gambling)

Am I smart enough to survive???

Director buying/selling could mislead u.. look at the attractive earnings and the favourable industry policy implementations, economic boom of the country, tax free farm that could bring additional revenue lined up for the business.. Qtr to Qtr growth in some counters cannot be forgotten if ur interested in making money on a med-long term plan..

If u ask me, from ur list my primary targets are DIST, COMB.X and NTB but I have my other bullish stocks as well Wink GREG n WAPO is in my scam list Twisted Evil

Difficult to guess the time period. I think NTB, ACME, GRAN, TAFL,LOLC, AHUN, TAJ are winning stocks at current levels.
But, when there are more opportunities study your self and take a decision.
