Sri Lanka last week hosted the, Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Financial Regulators Training Initiative.
The 4 day event, which started on the 8th of this month, has been held under the title of “Regulations and Supervision of Derivatives Markets”.
OTC derivative market transactions, new derivative regulatory reforms, trading mechanisms, supervision, risk management and surveillance and clearing, are the topics, which has come under discussion during the event.
Participants from countries like, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, India, Nepal, Republic of Korea, Indonesia, China and Taipei have taken part in this event, which
Junior and mid level supervisors and regulators of the respective countries have taken part in the seminar.
“The seminar was especially relevant to SEC Sri Lanka since the SEC is planning to facilitate launching of derivatives in the near future” added a statement issued by SEC of Sri Lanka.
