Budget 2013 tabled, revealed that the present poverty & unemployment level is 8.9% & 4.5% respectively.

May I request experts to enlighten us-
a) the sources of relevant data / information gathered
b) the verification process of accuracy of such data before processing.
b) the basis ( formula) of reaching such %

This request is only for learning purpose, not criticizing or challenging the numbers given in the budget.

Most of statistics given by govt are prepared by Census & statistics Dept
You can get relevant publications from them
They always use scientific method.The also follow verification process
Usually basis of calculation is given in the report it self

Pl do not believe political statements about statistics

However some people misuse statistics
