Restriction on transfer of vehicle permits removed
The three-year restriction imposed for transferring duty-free vehicle permits for public servants has been removed with effect from today, the Customs said.
Director General of Customs Dr. Neville Goonawardena said that the customs had received a directive from the Ministry of Finance and Planning to this effect today.
A highly placed official from the Ministry of Finance and Planning confirmed that the clause restricting the sale of permits was removed.
“It’s effective to both permits issued previously and the ones to be issued in the future. The clause pertaining to the restriction was removed” the source said. (Hafeel Farisz)
