The government earns Rs. 83-85 million in revenue monthly from the Southern Expressway, Deputy Minister of Ports and Highways, Nirmala Kothalawala said today.
Around 283,000 vehicles travel on the Southern Expressway each month, the deputy minister said responding to a query by UNP MP Ravi Karunanayake in Parliament.
He further added that the expressway has gained an income of approximately Rs. 950 million since its opening to the public, on November 27 last year.
