Am a new player in the arena.... i got shares from Dialog & IOC.....what do i do? Is it time to sell it off... i thought of investing on Expolanka? Can I have some advise friends, please?

So what made you to buy em as ur initial investment? Both of them had a low interest for the last few days but LIOC would do good with fuel prices going up.. But DIAL is a bit stagnated at this stage....

Well if you are on profit, so why not try to book profit and move on to another one? If not hold em in the medium/ long run so you might get a good return.. Or if you want to sell em and invest in an IPO, is another option where it's most safest thing to do at the mo..

For Expolanka you need to wait few more days. Until that study about them.

LIOC if you look at the current valuations is cheap compared to the market average. i.e Net asset Value per share is less than 1. Also, the Price to earnings ratio is 7. This means that the stock price is trading below the asset price of the company and also its trading at 7 times the profit per year. The market is trading on average at about 20 times P/E. I personally think that you should hold on to LIOC at least for the short term. If you think you have enough profit, sell it.
DIAL is in the harvesting phase of the investing cycle. This means that all the money that they spent within the last 2 years or so bringing in revanues and profits now. So, the potential is there for the stock to move up. They have also declared a 0.20 LKR dividend too. But, remember that telecom is a very capital intencive industry and within a few years they will have spend billions again to change the technology. That will take a big piece of their profits.
Medium term, hold on to DIAL and sell it once it moves up and book profits.

Since your new to investing, do your research and only buy stock in companies that you understand and companies you like. Buy only if YOU find a reason the company is worth at the price your buying.

i prefer IPO option................return sure...........
LIOC and DIAL are good shares,but stagnant for long time......both shares came down when comparing to last years prices...........
so IPO is better................ Smile
