The Attorney General yesterday made an application to refer three fundamental rights petitions to the Chief Justice and to appoint a Bench of five or more Supreme Court Judges to hear petitions challenging the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) that probed the impeachment motion against former Chief Justice Shirani Bandaranayake.

සෙලාන් බැංකුවේ හිටපු සභාපතිවරයාගේ අපක්ෂපාතීභාවය සහ ස්වාධීනත්වය එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ සංවිධානය විසින්ද ප්‍රශ්න කරනු ලැබ තිබිණ

අගවිනිසුරු ශිරාණි බණ්ඩාරනායක පදවියෙන් පහ කිරීමේ දෝෂාභියෝග ක්‍රියාදාමයට එරෙහිව ඉදිරිපත් වී තිබුණු පෙත්සම් කිහිපයක් පිළිබඳව ගත යුතු ඉදිරි ක්‍රියාමාර්ගය තීන්දු කිරීම පිණිස නව විනිසුරුවරයාට යොමු කිරීමට ශ්‍රේෂ්ඨාධිකරණය තීන්දු කළේය.

අගවිනිසුරුවරියට එරෙහි චෝදනා විභාග කිරීමට පාර්ලිමේන්තු තේරීම් කාරක සභාවට නීතිමය බලයක් නොමැති බවට තර්ක කරමින් ඉදිරිපත් කොට තිබුණු පෙත්සම් හතරක් නිමල් ගාමිණී අමරතුංග ප්‍රමුඛ ත්‍රී-පුද්ගල විනිසුරු මඬුල්ලක් හමුවේ විභාගයට කැඳවා තිබිණ.

එම අවස්ථාවේ ප්‍රකාශයක් කළ නීතිපතිවරයා අදාළ පෙත්සම් පංච පුද්ගල විනිසුරු මඬුල්ලක් හමුවේ විභාග කිරීම යෝග්‍ය බැවින් පෙත්සම් අගවිනිසුරු මොහාන් පීරිස් වෙත යොමු කරන මෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටියේය.

එහෙත් නව අගවිනිසුරුවරයා ගේ පත්වීම නීත්‍යානුකූලව සිදුවී නොමැති බව පැවසූ පෙත්සම්කරුවන්ගේ නීතිවේදීහු පෙත්සම් නව අගවිනිසුරු වෙත යොමු කිරීමට විරෝධය පළ කළහ.

දෙපාර්ශවයේ අදහස් දැක්වීමෙන් අනතුරුව තීන්දුව ප්‍රකාශයට පත් කළ අධිකරණය එම පෙත්සම් අගවිනිසුරු මොහාන් පීරිස් වෙත යොමු කළේය.

මොහාන් පීරිස් ගේ පත්වීම අභියෝගයට ලක් කරමින් විකල්ප ප්‍රතිපත්ති කේන්ද්‍රය ශ්‍රේෂ්ඨාධිකරණය වෙත පෙත්සමක් ගොනු කොට තිබෙන අතර, කලක් මුළුල්ලේ ආණ්ඩුව ආරක්ෂා කරමින් ක්‍රියා කළ සෙලාන් බැංකුවේ හිටපු සභාපතිවරයාගේ අපක්ෂපාතීභාවය සහ ස්වාධීනත්වය එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ සංවිධානය විසින්ද ප්‍රශ්න කරනු ලැබ තිබිණ.

මේ අතර දෝෂාභියෝග ක්‍රියාදාමයට එරෙහිව උද්ඝෝෂණයේ යෙදුනු ජේ සී වැලිඅමුණ, එම් ඒ සුමන්තිරන්, ජයම්පති වික්‍රමරත්න සහ රොමේෂ් ද සිල්වා නීතිවේදීන්ට මරණ තර්ජන එල්ල කරමින් ලිපි එවීමට විරෝධය පළ කිරීමේ අත්සන් ව්‍යාපාරයක් උපරිමාධිකරණ සංකීර්ණය ඉදිරිපස දී දියත් කෙරින.

Episode is being heaved further, though at a snail's pace, with profound pursuit by western countries. Whatever, it is understandable that expected destination over many arguable events, from westerners point of view is dubious.

On the other hand, authorities have not yet realized that rigid decisions taken in authoritarian style, out of democratic path, pave the way to impede the foreign direct investment.

Even much expected progress in capital market made the investors to think twice, causing heavy outflows.
