Dunamis Capital PLC (CSEC) is the major shareholder of CFVF (First Capital Holdings PLC).

CSEC holds nearly 70% of CFVF shares. That is CSEC is the parent company of CFVF.

The major shareholder of CSEC is NextVentures Limited. It holds nearly 21% of CSEC shares through a margin account provided by First Capital Market Ltd, which is also a subsidiary of CFVF.

NextVentures Limited is an affiliated company of First Capital Limited. First Capital Limited is a subsidiary of First Capital Holdings PLC (CFVF).

So you can decide to where the profit goes at the end.

How is Next Ventures an affiliated firm? It just has a common director. Is that what you are referring to?

Otherwise are you saying that a subsidiary is owning the parent. Razz
That is not allowed under Corporate Law.

There is a better way of doing this. That is to invest in a subsidiary. Then later on write off the investment in the account books.
The sub (now written off from accounts) reappears as a top shareholder of the parent. king

Quiz: Name the firms that have done this

I am not aware of the credibility of the info, but refer Note 9 (Page 6) of CFVF quarter report 31.12.2012.
Disclosures in relation to related party transactions in accordance with the Continuing Listing Requirements of the Colombo Stock Exchange (Section Cool

Nextventures Limited (an affiliated company of First Capital Limited) settled a short term borrowing facility
obtained from First Capital Limited amounting to Rs.325 Mn on 31 December 2012.

Am I missing something here?
