A review of the performance of JINS in 2012 and 1qtr 2013 gives some encouragement for those investors (short time) to await the 2nd qtr 2013 and then take a call.

Dumping prematurely will give only small gains.
Price possible to surpass last years results.

Why?

Good management if claims (only 51%)
Motor business is 74%
Market share is 29%
New products are more attractive

They need some good corporate clients to boost their position in the Insurance Business otherwise they will keep crawling along like a grasshopper!
Underwriting costs/ reinsurance costs are pretty high and takes the chunk away.

Unlikely dividend this year again. Within 6 months 2 dividends of Rs 1.

CFVF has a possibility of a dividend . CFVF holder deserve it after going through crap with this share ( detected fraud last year)

I am grappling with the same question: Whether to liquidate JINS at Rs 14 and invest in some other share, or to hold on.

The answer would depend on your expectations of the company's growth prospects.
If you believe that JINS will remain a 1-rupee-dividend company for the foreseeable future, you should sell now...
But if you are convinced that they have the capability to grow their EPS, you should hold.

I don't know about SFIN.
