After three years I am yet to find one.

Seriously, the brokerage paid is a utter waste. It's time investors demand for trading without the involvement of brokers. I have heard that is happening in some countries.(Electronic broker?)

I totally agree, as with Fidelity, Zecco, Vanguard, Lightspeed, and Just2trade in USA
and u pay only a fraction of what brokers charge.

I second JBS. so far i didnt get any sort of force selling. btw, i played with cash most of the times. anyway when it come to taking advice you dont rely on broker. it's not working by asking "tell me a good share to trade / invest"!!!

Good example for brokers behavior is SDB shares

Although it pays dividend and NAV is very much higher than market price
Brokers do not promote it
Can any one explain why?

Most of Brokers are Jokers ?

aiiyo kiyala wadak neha. brokers are just collecting their brokerage. sometimes they ask from us " is that good if there is any news " past there were .. but now no need of a broker if you have the trading system.so no need of brokerage. it should be on electronic broker

Brokers are doing broker job, ie. buying and selling. As an investor you are not supposed to ask from brokers which shares to buy or which shares to sell. we are supposed to tell the broker which shares to buy/sell and at what price. if broker exceeds the price then only you can say broker is not good enough.

In sri lanka brokers go as investment advisors and pretend that they can advise people on their investment decisions. this is totally wrong since they dont have the required knowledge.

Market is a slaughter house and if someone rely on brokers too much, he becomes the chicken.

Yes there is a conflict of interest when your broker is also your advisor. Are they geuine to help you , or make more profits for the company?

If Brokers do their Job as mentioned by' malanap' no problem

The problem is they mislead people

One of my friend ask from his broker about purchasing of SDB shares

Brokers advice was not to buy because it is slow moving

The Slow movement of SDB is also creation of Brokers

ehemath kalayak thibuna. that time will come again if brokering firms are sweep out and let us to trade by ourselves and no brokerage be charged. at present brokers are waiting to hunt an innocent rather than protecting their customers..
