They cant do such things, I think Minority SH should complain on this. But this looks a good thing but transparency ?

Old story. clear conflict of interest.
I don't like shares with Govt involvement, but you don't have any with no involvement
I gives Rs. 10.00 dividend with 72.00 per share
so, buy it

That is da reason y SDB share price struck at this level...PE of less than 5. If sum1 brings this issue to the court these people will surely get the weight of the justice. Offering 60 mn as a gift in addition to other retirement benefit is substantial. Almost two month profit....

Sometime bank a paper reported another listed bank gifted 25 Million or something to the retiring chairman

The contribution made by mr Kiriwandeniya to sanasa may be very much higher than this amount.

If share holders support this decision by Board of Directors I do not see any problem
We all know CEOS appointed by various govt during the past have earn
enormous amount of money by granting loans to crooks
But Mr Kiriwandeniya managed this bank very well and it is one of best managed bank. Not like BOC ,PB,or NSB
good reward and penalty system is a necessity for good economic
management and to encourage honest hardworking managers
