Thanks CSE.SAS

They should get direct benefits from commonwealth meeting as well as Hilton refurbishment project (if happens according to the plan)
But it’s difficult to collect below 70. This can be bounced back to mid 80s with very little effect due to lack of liquidity.
Tried collecting around 66 but was not a very successful story.

There seem to be no Impact of CHOGEM on profit levels.

CHOGM made occupancy rates lesser. It appears many kept away from Colombo.

So in essence, though we expected CHOGM to boos tresults it worked opposite due to vacant rooms.

This result is good considering it.

As sls mentioned CHOGM event went at the wrong direction. It was my biggest miscalculation in 2013.

Also I'm now told that the Hilton will not be closed 100%. They have changed the refurbishment plan.
As per the new plan they will close 4 floors at once and refurb two floor. This will continue.
How they will refurb the ground floor is still unknown.

I think government recently bought AHPL at a really good price (unlike their some investments in last few years)
However no shares left with me.

I too miscalculated the CHOGM impact. It was the govt that screwed it up by blocking out the rooms and then cancelling at last moment.

Usually Hotels charge for 1 night or more if someone cancels at the last minute.
I guess Govn might have been above the rules.

Seems the Hotels increased the rates else with occupancy level as low as 50% , I am surpised they reported even this earning.

What was supposed to be blessing turned out to be a dressing.

Hope CHOGM brought FDI atleast. ( so far what is brought am not sure)
