Coco Lanka PLC, through its subsidiaries, engages in the plantation, manufacture, and marketing of agriculture products in Sri Lanka.

The company produces products for erosion control, horticultural, and industrial sectors. Its erosion control products include control blankets, geotextiles, and waterlogs; horticultural products comprise coir peat, husk chips, grow bags, cut fiber, coir pots, coco disk/coir disk, and weed control; and industrial products consist of mattress fiber, double cleaned long fibers, machine twisted fiber, and coir twine. The company was founded in 1994 and is based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Coco Lanka PLC is a subsidiary of Renuka Agro Exports (Pvt) Ltd.

Future Direction

The company’s principal activity was re classified as investment company for Agricultural ventures, hence the company is keen on acquisitions focusing mainly on the agriculture, food and beverage sectors. Even though COCO is functioning as an Investment Trust at present, according to the present classification of CSE it comes under the sub sector Beverage Food and Tobacco.

Brief Valuation

NP 9 months cumulative period 189.2
NP Comparative 9 months cumulative period (2009) 84.8
NP Comparative 9 months cumulative period YoY 123.1%

EPS Last quarter 6.7

EPS (AVG of last 2 quarters) : 8.1/2 X 4 = 16.2
sector PE 23, if we discounted to @ 10

price can be 16.2 X 10 = 162/-

Looks like ONEMONEY is heavily stuck with COCO for some time.. I have seen many post from him/her on COCO.....

There is a incorrect info on below... EPS for last Q is 2.38...EPS for Q befoe last was 6.7.

EPS
for Q for months ended
Q4 2009 Q1 2010 0.47 9.11
q1 2010 Q2 2010 1.39 1.39
q2 2010 Q3 2010 6.7 8.09
q3 2010 Q4 2010 2.38 10.47
q4 2010 3.5 13.97

EPS for Q4 2010 (3.5) is a guesstimate.

Sector PE :7.79 (as per NDBS for investment trust)

So valuation could be in the range of 112..........

Lets give time to solve the issue..Normally SL market reacts early to results..(If you analyse the trends from the early 2000)

However in todays contexts many were sunk deep due to recent negative Macro environmental changes. But the positive is our companies are performing extremely well and delivering magical results. So drowned investors eager clear their debts, uncertainty in yesterday's highly active market.

An investor whom enters to market today might have to wait some time compared to last 2 years. But will be rewarded only if right stock is identified.

High returns may deliver in time to come.not today.

We can expect extremely rich dividends.Especially with illiquid stocks(Companies with less than 35Mn issued quantity)

As per their reports;
The company is today an investment trust managing a portfolio consisting of
investments in equity, debt instruments, biological assets (forestry) and agriculture.

Short term investments grew from 48400 to 223825 since 31-03-10 to 31-12-10.

The net asset value per share of the Group has increased to nearly Rs 46 as at 31-12-2010 compared to Rs 40.47 as at 31st March 2010.

As of 31-12-2010 - Rs. 244949/- was the equity holders position which is an EPS of 10.47 which again brings an annualised avg EPS of 13.96 So an eps valuation at a sector PE of 7.79 stands at Rs. 108.7/- fo this..

But EPS is not gonna be the corrct method for investment trust analysis.. we have to look at their market value of holding shares..

I am expecting rich dividends in COCO!! Anything between Rs 2/- - Rs 3/-.

We all must keep our faith in cash rich companies to post high returns today as well as in future. That is what we all believe and expect.

Couple of years back everyone was exited on rich cap.gains from CSE.

But today the game is changed dramatically

Market is searching a new route?isn't it?

Would like to add few thoughts on my previous comment quoted above..

I prefer to see cash flow in detail where all transactions are converted into cash form. End of the day cash is the worth of business transactions. it shows how cash generated & used during the period. Thorough understanding of contents in cash flow identifying the window dressing.

Also, to understand what kind of borrowings & repayments & its direct impact on revenue statement.

Free cash flow is useful business tool to measure overall business valuation further enhanced by discounted factor to determine the real cash worth of the business.

There's no one right way for everybody. Your path to wealth is as individual as you are. There is an abundance of information at your fingertips: websites, books, financial magazines, e-zines, financial newsletters, motivational speeches on cassette or CD. Learn about the four fast tracks of wealth and decide which interests you most. Prepare, Pursue, and Prosper! If you're like most wealthy people, you'll probably make your money in at least two or more of these areas.
