http://www.dialog.lk/news/dialog-switches-on-4g-–-lte-pilot-network-in-colombo/

Dialog Axiata announced yesterday that its pilot 4G network had been powered up in several key zones of Colombo city, signaling South Asia’s first touch exposition of Long Term Evolution (LTE) services.
The flagship telecom service provider said its pilot network has demonstrated the delivery of over 100 Mbps in indoor demonstration mode and 40 – 50Mbps under outdoor mobile conditions, within the Colombo Fort, Colombo 2 and 3 regions of the city, with demonstrations at the Dialog Future World at Darley Road Colombo.
Dialog Axiata will conduct extensive trials of 4G-LTE technology in parallel with the expansion its of High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA)+ services across all provinces of Sri Lanka.

As someone who is still holding DIAL IPO shares I would love to see DIAL go up, but sadly DIAL has a history of releasing features that are not even half baked. I doubt if 4g is even in the baking pan.

Once upon a long ago, when Etisalat was still CelTel they planned to announce W@P , DIAL got wind of it and released their own W@P service a week before CelTel did. That's not the first time they got things wrong.

What you say is true Tubal.
But lets get the best benefit as consumers from this 3.75 G and 4.0 G.

Let them give us a good package.

Mobitel will Launch the 4G soon.
They circulated a SMS stating their practical demo of 4G with 96mbps downlink speed.

Until such a time both of them have a actual network and marketing plan. I doubt there will be any movement in DIAL, or SLTL prices.

I don't think so... When Etisalat announcing they introduce 3.75 G for the first time, all the other two major net works announced that they introducing 4G connections. But still anyone can’t reach the 3.5 G connection speed as they accepted ratio in practically. And it takes a time to update existing sites to new frequencies. This is what happening…

In this case I think it’s like a testing in Colombo area and only few people get the benefit and will not give a sudden effect to the market than the company existing… scratch

Mobile Phone Companies will soon have tough competition from Satellite communication and Satellite phone companies.

I don't think so. In the present context consumer wants more features out of there connection. And that where satellite falls short.

Nope. Satellite era has been already gone/finished. Mobile Satellite is fails due to power consumption of the user equipment (due to high power needed to transmit such a high distance). As a solution for that, scientists trying to put lower orbit satellite (very close to the earth surface) but still not good for commercial purposes. So don't expect satellite mobile phone to be popular with these facts sooner.

----
4G is still in testing phase and it will takes atleast 1 - 2 years to have enough coverage and capacity.
Mobile companies don't have enough revenue to expand 4G network since still they haven't got profit from 3G expansions. Untill they making profit over 3G network, 4G expansion won't get accelerated.

Recently Etisalt announced they introduced 3.75 G and now dialog & mobitel announced they implement 4 G on trail basis, but the i have phone with the 3.5 G and find it difficult to get the signal for it even with in colombo so finally i switch off this facility, so i don't know whether same story will repeat with 3.75G or with 4 G

Same story can happen in 3.75G.

In 4G, there is a hardware based sheduller which gives you a guaranteed bandwidth which was the major drawback in 3/3.5/3.75G networks.

So in simple words 4G will give you a minimum quota of bandwidth which will not allocate to an another user while you are online.
