Net Asset Value of over Rs 7/= and 50 cents EPS during the last quarter. Airport Express way might make the difference to this hotel and interesting to watch the next quarter. Hotels are overrated, but I am buying this share at current price of around Rs 5/70. Give your thoughts!

Can we stop tourists coming to this Island? They are continuously will visit to enjoy activities in beaches and sea and to see beautiful sceneries and historical places plus to enjoy hot climate etc. This hotel will have long term growth. Tourist sector and food sector are two growth areas in the economy now. I haven’t been to this hotel yet. I would like to visit one day. Good luck.

Yes.. MARA shows great recovery from 2013 setback. Income increased by 183% and EPS too increased more than 100%.

We can expect good performance in coming quater as well as tourist season starts.

Remember MARA alltime high is Rs.18.30 on 2012 and this was trading around Rs.8 about 8 months back. It went down to 5 and recovered to 5.80. We can expect MARA to break 6 resistance and get back to Rs.7+ in next few months..

MARA started to continue its uptred with a bang again. Very Happy

Over 2.5 million shares traded so far today and over 1 million traded above Rs 7.40.. Interesting times ahead.. cheers

I am also bullish on MARA My target price is Rs. 10/-.

MARA is a 162 rooms rich entity situated around 10km away from Airport. I was there about one year ago and it is a really nice hotel, But I guess this should go for a refurbishment. I hope this would touch Rs.10/- based on following reasons.

~Lankem has controlling stake just by margin if you analyze you would find that they are trying to increase their stake slowly from the market.

~Their right issue happened at Rs.10/- in 2011 and the people who bought shares and holding did not benefited by a single cent so far.

~Colombo-Katunayake express way and ongoing infrastructure development would benefit MARA to increase its guests.

~Share price is trading at its NAV

~Management under a reputed company Lankem.

MARA seems to be never recovering hotel even right issue after right issue.
I am wondering whether SEC/CSE should stop allowing these right issues, if a company is over ten years old , does not report any good profit ( 0,1 eps does not qulaify) or give a dividend for say 5 continous years but asks for money from share holders to pay their debt due to continous bad management.

Can't recall a year they actually made any notable profit but I recall 2 right issues with last 5 years. Seems 2014 is the worst loss yet to come. But they ask for more money
