Dayani Wegapitiya (The wife of Laugfs Gas Chairman W. Kattadiyalage. H. Wegapitiya) who is the Acting. Director - Policy & Strategic Planning of Sri Lanka's Export Promotion agency Export Development Board (EDB) is now in question for a 'Conflict of Interest Issue.'
According to several exporters in Tyres, Rubber and Tea sector in the country they have been losing some good business orders since their client business had been broken by Dayani Wegapitiya to profit her husband's business.It is also learnt that several good product importers have been sourced directly to Laugfs Gas Holdings whilst other importers lost several opportunities.
Meanwhile insiders from Export Development Board highlights that Dayani has been using her official promotional training programmes and campaigns funded by Public Money financed EDB to promote her husband's business.
