The Global Fund Manager’s Conference to be held in Colombo on October 9 will see more regional businessmen taking part, officials said.
The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) in collaboration with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) have sent invitations to global fund managers to participate at Sri Lanka’s second international fund managers forum at the Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel, they said. “We are expecting about 100 fund managers from all over the world,” Niroshan Wijewardena, Head of Marketing CSE told the Business Times. Fund managers from India, Pakistan, Singapore, Japan, Middle East, US, London and Switzerland have confirmed their participation.
“Businessmen from Pakistan are also taking part,” Farrukh Ansari, CEO Ijara Holdings in Pakistan told the Business Times. The forum is part of a series of activities planned by the SEC and the CSE during this year to attract foreign funds to the local equity market. The two institutions recently concluded an investor forum in New York.
