At the beginning of the year, I have read an article by Master Raymond Lo and his analysis of the year of Rabbit. I am not a superstitious person but the recent global events somehow prompted me to re-read the predictions. The uprising in North Africa and Middle East, coupled with the 8.8 magnitude Earthquake in Japan. I shall quote some of the predictions that seemed to be associated to the events.

Master Raymond described the symbol for the year is “an assassin with a dagger”, and metal being a destroyer of wood, he expected many conflicts. He said, “the elements of metal over wood is often associate with war in history, the date when the Korean war broke out with North Korean troops invading South Korean is on 25/6/1950 and this day is yin metal rabbit day.” “Metal in general is associated with the quality of leadership, loyalty to friends, brotherhood, and Justice and destruction. Rabbit represents youth, motions and activities and so it will be energetic year with new movements of the young people and more young people demanding changes and reform in politics and social establishment.” Were the protests by the citizens demanding change in Egypt and Libya politics coincidence?

Also, “in the year of the Rabbit, the bad energy called “Five Yellow” – symbolizing obstacles and misfortune, arrives at the East… The worst months will be in March, June, December”. “As wood element is symbol of trees and the environment, we can expect the metal attacking wood in 2011 will also cause more accidents leading to more destruction of the environment. Natural disasters like forest fire will happen to cause damage to the atmosphere.” Japan is a major economic power in the East, and in March 11, it suffered a major earthquake. In addition, the nuclear power station is on the verge of radiation leakage as I write.

So what about the stock market? Would his prediction be accurate as well? “Regarding the economy, fire element is often the driving force behind the stock market. The five elements are also affecting peoples mood. In general fire is joy, water is fear, Earth is meditation, metal is sadness, and wood is anger.” “In 2011, the Rabbit is pure wood, it is not so strong in generating fire like the Tiger. So the economy will not be as fast moving as the Tiger but there is also strong summer fire supported by wood in 2011, so the stock market will continue to be vibrant and active most of the year. However, with strong water coming in 2012, one have to be cautioned against some setback in the autumn of 2011 commencing from around August and October as usual.”

I have also posted the CLSA Feng Shui Index for 2011 previously,
( http://www.bigfatpurse.com/2011/02/clsa-feng-shui-index-for-2011/ ) which suggests that Feb is a down month which was true as the market retreated after the Chinese New Year. For Mar, the index predicted the market would stagnate and let’s see how it would work out. The market would only perform in the second half of this year if the Feng Shui index is right.

What do you think? Do you believe in Feng Shui?

I think most of the billionaires in the world do and believe in feng shui. (Ex Mr Mukesh Ambani.) He created his new home according to feng shui.

Market had it's momentum for continuos 2 years and it is understandable it should settle down to a decent level.
Even without feng shoue prediction it is understandable we should be away from the market with stop loss technique.

I also think so. This is my personal opinion, overall ,market might settle down to a decent level that is because of various unresolved issues, trend is uncertain. It is always good to observe new trends, stop loss technique might prevent further loss, fundamentally good shares are stagnant and there are no signs of immediate recovery. I need to express my genuine feelings about current situation, however, nobody can predict market trends hundred percent accurately. It is difficult to say which way it is going to go in June.

Reliance on bull shit won't take you any high, even if it takes you some high it won't keep you there for long.
