Fuel price are falling in the world market Why not Reduce the fuel price in Sri lanka.

which would be a very favourable for the economy.

If reduce the oil price how will effect the LIOC share price.

I don't think variability in fuel prices have a major impact of on share price of LIOC in the long term because demand for fuel is inelastic. However in the short term share price can be expected to appreciate or depreciate because some investors might consider fuel price to have an effect on share price and act on that. These effects can be expected to become nullified in the longer term.

Government will reduce the prices to get votes before the end of this month. LIOC price will come down slightly immediately after the reduction and will pick again after a week.

There is a co relation between oil price and vehicles . price of vehicles will go up with the reduction of oil price .

If any on can tell how the crude oil purchases are done (what is the procedure) please feel free to explain. As i got some infor' which i am willing to share. But i want to cross check whether what i knows is correct.

If i can get the above information can give the answer for not reducing the fuel prices. Wink

Most probably fuel price will reduce by the government before the election. and immediately it will affect on share price. But later on again share price will move (up/down) with Q Reports.

There was a Cabinet decision approving a proposal by the Minister in Charge to fix the buying price of oil at a high price which prevailed some time back in the midst of opposition protests. As usual Sri Lankan consumers will pay a higher price for petrol and diesel while few individuals reap all the benefits.

The govt is if reduce the fuel prices it will definitely have an impact on LIOC profits.
