I voted for him in 2010 as well to show him my gratitude. After all, he himself has set the example of showing gratitude, hasn’t he? He didn’t throw “the best general in the whole world” (his own words) behind bars when that fool got out of line. How many top diplomatic posts has he offered to those that supported him even when they happened to be uneducated morons? Didn’t he, to the best of his ability, try to protect those unruly provincial council ruffians whenever they went on a raping or killing spree?
Another reason why I voted for him in 2010 was his promise to abolish the executive presidency. He asked for a two third majority to do just that. Silly people didn’t give it. So he had to get hold of some impeccably honest MPs from the opposition to make up the two thirds majority. These guys had clean records. None was under investigation for bribery offences & none had court cases pending. They were given ministerial posts in his small cabinet, the smallest in the whole world. He then, as promised, because he is an honorable man of one word & deed, proceeded to abolish the executive presidency. Hooray to him! In his shoes, any other lying scoundrel would have got the way paved to contest for the top post as many number of times as he wished. Any other rouge would have introduced new laws that made it impossible for citizens to drag him before a court of law even after the expiry of the tenure of office.
Those of you who don’t intend to vote for him please consider this. Our beloved president has 2 more years to go. But he has given us the choice to decide early whether to keep him or not. This is because he knows for certain that at the end of another two years, we’ll vote for him en masse because by then we would be a bunch of very prosperous & happy people not burdened by heavy taxes. Why should he heap more & more taxes upon us? Our income far more exceeds the debt & interest we have to pay & we’ll be left with a big surplus even after paying those negligible sums.
The mild corruption, if any, of this man, family, & Coyotes sure is negligible. We only have to dish out something like a little over 200 thousand a day to sustain him. Peanuts! We ought to be in the Guinness book of records for the meager amount of money spent to pave the roads. Cheapest rates in the world per km. “Mihin Air” obviously so named in respect of Arahath Mihindu thero, runs at a huge profit. All transactions done by the government are transparent. Tenders are called for all contracts given. When going abroad once in a blue moon his Excellency the president stays in a cheap way side motel with his skeleton staff. He is never known to stay at expensive & posh hotels in New York such as “The Waldorf Astoria.”And yes! He is a good family man too. Good father. If not would he let son Namal to hold races in the holy city of Kandy ignoring the protests of the venerable prelates of both Asgiri & Malwathu chapters? Another son was granted funds to buy a tiny corner in a Chinese space craft so that he could send the lion flag into the space. All university students are treated like his own & are never given baton charges or tear gassed when the unruly brats come out demonstrating for fun.
Under his government the island has become the miracle of not only Asia but of the whole world. Government servants tie themselves to trees, ministers sons are arrested & produced before courts of law as soon as they get out of line. Suspects in murder cases are not visited in hospital by the president or the defense secretary. Such a suspect is not allowed to leave the country & go to Singapore for “treatment” while a criminal case is pending. No chain snatchers are found among his honorable ministers. Huge containers of ethanol don’t mysteriously disappear .Drugs don’t miraculously transform into flour. Museums are not broken into. Wives of ruling party politicians imprisoned for aiding & abetting in murder cases are not given presidential pardons & set free. When the STF raids the house of a provincial politico like Mr Lansa , suspecting drug dealings, the president doesn’t go anywhere near that person & hugs him in public to show support. Provincial politicos are arrested the minute they interfere with police work like in “Wanduramba” recently. In what other country can the opposition conduct a campaign unhindered by thugs & hooligans kowtowing to the ruling party? Their stages are not burned & not shot at. Opposition party secretaries are not “taken” over by the government in retaliation when a government top shot walks over to the other side. We have flourished so much so that people like Thonda, Merwyn, who were only a notch above paupers sometime before, now travel around in Hummers & Porsches. We were given the benefit of fuel price cuts the very moment it started sliding down. And mind you, the fuel we get is of the best quality. Our vehicles were never seen stranded on the road like in other countries where low quality fuel is distributed. If that happened here…My..eee, the minister responsible would have got kicked out straight away! Ah, this reminds me, we don’t import the black gold any more. In 2010, our president who speaks nothing but the truth announced that we hit oil & gas. He made the announcement standing in the holy precinct of the “Temple of the Tooth.” Now our vehicles are running on that fuel & even my beloved S..S..sister uses SL gas to brew her “black coffee.”(Sorry for the stammer!)
We are loved not only by India & China but by the whole world. Who wouldn’t want to be friends with such a rich country as ours? If our president is well treated, loved, & respected, a street or two named after him, he’ll donate millions of $ to those countries. Ask Palestine if you don’t believe me. The same may apply to individuals too. Please don’t infer from this that the hordes of petty provincial politicos who are now crossing over to stand by the president too are given this royal treatment.
So you see my friends, given these reasons & many other good valid ones such as the “videsheya kumanthrana” am I not justified in voting for MR not only this time but the next, the next & the next too?
Let us all go on the 8th January & vote en masse for our “කියන දේ කරන, කරන දේ කියන” great hero the “forever president” of Sri Lanka.
HEIL HITLER!
