Still not announced on CSE.

Hot Hot Hot...

http://www.cse.lk/cmt/upload_report_file/452_1306300161.pdf

March EPs Rs 6.47
Year Eps 30.37.

Profit for Quarter 103,445,175.

Compared to it competitors this is not too bad of a result considering the difficult market conditions the competitors used to claim.
Remember their New Tax Fre farm benefit would not have kicked in.

Current PE is = 420/30.37 = 14

I would say this fairly valued now with expected future growth.

Certainly looks the leader of the sector.

* Might be interesting to look at Top 20 Share holder list Wink

QoQ from last Dec quarter has dropped Yes. ( Naturally there is about +50% QoQ from last year)

Compared to TAFL the the drop is less.

Dec TAFL Eps 5.29
March TAFL Eps 1.75

BFl Dec Eps 10.24
March Eps 6.33

Possibly their own maize cultivations kicked in to reduce cost compared to TAFL/GRAN.

Short term price variation might be there but this is a good long term stock in my opinion with the New TAxFree Farm added.

Perpetual is holding a big stake. If there other investments are something to go buy, I can see this moving shortly.

To whoever who gave - rep.

Can you say why you did that? IS it because I compared last quarter earnings TAFL with BFL. I also own TAFL. Am I not allowed to do an analysis/comparision of shares to drive a point?

When we compare the 3Q, quarterly revenue has dropped by nearly 28 million. May be Sri Lankans used to consume more chicken during December.

Revenue a bit down as you mentioned in March , but Tax is up also up? March Income Tax Expense is much higher compared to Sept and Dec. Not sure it is a last quarter issue only.

If you take September
Profit from Ordinary Activities Before Tax = 128,865,508
IncomeTax = Rs16,457,119

Dec
Profit from Ordinary Activities Before Tax = 185,644,371
IncomeTax = Rs 23,760,359

March
Profit from Ordinary Activities Before Tax = 145,706,954
IncomeTax = Rs 40,350,810

Other than the marginal drop in revenue the extra Tax itself would have costed them over RS1+ eps.

there is a seasonal factor for this business. 4Q is the quarter with most earnings naturally. slstock was justified in his comparison with the same quarter last year
