since the last few days when reading the posts of this forum it reminds me the behavior of that old forum. lots of promotions. get ready for rally of this and that. impressive results even when earnings have gone down. massive profits even when it's because of one time sell offs. desperation? i have about 30 blue chip shares and overall total it has gone down slightly.

Although under desperate situation, This forum should always guarded and protected. It should be always ahead of that old one. Its the responsibility of each and every member.

Yes duke. And what I am really annoyed about is that even moderators have engaged in that practice. That's why I am less noisy than usual

Infact I wanted to start a similar topic in the morning. Any how you have started. Thanks duke. I am also having the same feeling. I have a feeling to exit from this forum or just monitor from outside.

Hi! Tubal,

On this forum there is no seperate Customer Service Dept. Moderators are not above the law and at anytime that the Admin is convinced (based on evidence) that any particular Moderator is not doing the job, he or she may be removed after a fair hearing. At the moment Quibit may not be taking any drastic action due to the fact that this Forum is still in the infant stages and the Moderators are volunteering their services on a part time basis.

With time all the teething problems will be resolved and qualified and capable people will take it from there onwards. I too may not be on that panel which is a fair call.

So please bear with a few people's idiosyncrasies until then.

Thanks,

I am always open for suggestion. I would appreciate if you guys could Private Message me with regard to any of the issues you have, instead of repeating these comments all over the forum. I think that is a more professional way to handle matters.

We have lost one of our best moderators due to recent events.

i wasn't targeting moderators.

i would say moderators should follow, just an example, innam as a role model, facts and figures. Smile
i know it's human and you'd want your shares to go up. it's depressing when it's not doing well. but moderators should have some moderation.

also it's depressing to see that 'don't write in color' post in many of the posts.

I have reported many spammy posts through the report this post button. Some were acted on (thanks Mark), some were not. Some of the posts I reported were actually written by mods. Rajitha will be able to give quite a few more examples.

I am aware that modding is a thankless task. Mods usually get brickbats and rarely get thanked. but still ... (hope my use of ellipsis here doesn't get confused with excessive use of punctuation :-) )

Another concern which I have raised publicly and privately is that people who repeatedly post suspicious content surprisingly have large number of positive votes. This can only happen if they have duplicate accounts.

Worse still, I have seen some people (including mods) create post or add a reply and then delete it later after it's promotional life time is over. Possibly to avoid negative reps.

One good think about this forum is, it gives sufficient freedom to members as to what they say. That make it lively, people get exited, wants to contribute. However, it is the responsibility of each and every member to point out when incorrect or deceiving type of data is presented. We cannot leave the whole affair to the Moderators alone. That's my opinion.

I must thank quibit for inviting me to be a moderator a while back but I politely declined. You know me, I am too bearish, If I become a moderator, every post that even slightly hints at even a fundamentally strong share going up will likely be deleted :-)

i saw a member who was promoting SEMB in few threads, so i checked his previous post list and saw all of his posts were about promoting SEMB, infarct without any statistics hes asking members to buy SEMB shares, in forums these are normal and mods or Admin cant involve in every single thread, so its up to the members to decide whats good and bad

Yes man he was supper moderator! Only promoted those poultry stocks with right facts only like by multiplying December quarter earnings of the companies by 4 to get annual earnings because its easy! Then make PE ratios !
Super great promoting of same stocks from old times only with correct facts lol! lol! And OFC giving negative rep and insulting who ever went pointed at them!

Given that i'm not married to the chicken sector here is a PE comp based on December quarter earnings. Keep in mind that Dec is good for chicken consumption so it may not be prudent to annualize December earnings but for the moment let's keep it simple.

Few young kids still need to get a bit more experience. Most of them came to the market when it was generating easy monies. So they expecting the same no matter what the market condition is...

Most people still believe this market is temporarily up because of impressive Q4 results. But just before 2,3 weeks ago some companies show really good results. Did the market move? NOOOOOOO.

sorry for bringing in a name. overall i learn a lot from his comments. i've seen this comment bashed a lot. that's nice too.
i also read Rajitha's comments and very informative. only suggestion is it would be much much better if you could be a tiny bit polite sometimes when correcting other's wrong statements. this would be a much better place then. Smile

and keep on writing tubal. giving rational explanations to an irrational market.

Sorry to barge into this discussion being a relative new comer to this forum. Don't the Moderators consult each other ? If one of them is for some reason have made an incorrect posting, don't the others get involved?
