I stated in several posts that there will be a market correction around the corner. But this drop is temporary one & most probably market will move upwards again. Very Happy

Thank you for your time RPPA.

So we can expect a turn/reversal before COB today / tomorrow morning isn't it??

As you mentioned the real correction can be expected at around ASI 7800. Am I right RPPA?

I think you will see lot of volatility during next 100 days. Interst rate movement direction would be very critical. Ideal situation for traders because uncertainty coupled with the expected changes in the Administration would bring uncertainty to the stock market. Uncertainty is an enemy of the bull and friend of the Bear.

Don't be too bullish, be cautious and buy solid counters. Keep an eye on the interst rates. If it goes about 15% p.a then bond market and equity markets are likely to swap positions.

Interest rates will not move to 15%. That will never happen. But there may by fluctuations of maximum 1% OR 1.50% upwards in the short term. But quickly it will push downwards again. Specially when the fuel bill is reduced by 50% in cost terms. Therefor less pressure on exchange rates as well.

Yes. Our our fuel import bill should reduce by 50% due to the prevailing market prices.

I belive RPPA is correct. Interest rate never'll be increase up to 15%, unless for senior citizens based on certain conditions and terms. Bcz, they'll definitely go for a oil/gas price cut and essential food items prices will be reduced, hence, we could expect some deflation situation. In such situation, to control the deflation, they'll never move for that kind of a 15% up, rather than cut of interest rate...

More troubles to come with this political uncertainty with 3 main parties forming due to SLFP split.
UNP is becoming nervous due to Chandrika forming a SLFP now.
I had no option but to sell 90% of my portfolio in the morning with good gains.
This is the stability issue I predicted many times in this forum. Anyway it is early days. let us hope for the best. Die hard MY3 supporters need to come and console worried now.

Most of the promises are not practical. Suppose 1kg rubber is trading 180/- kg in the singapore market but how can sri lanka government pay 350/- per kg for farmers/tappers. Even internet free thing, removing taxes from fuel.,etc...we want some tax revenue in this stage. Government income is lesser than expenses, loan and loan installments.

Yes, when we pointed that out pundits here were all over us. Any fool will understand you cannot just give benefits without boosting revenue.
Only hope is Ranil other wise Champika's Economics will ruin all hopes of the change.

We put orders 45 days prior. So we pay are still paying fairly high prices for fuel Now Oil barrel is $48 per barrel. Which is a 50% reduction in prices. Therefor we will get that benefit in coming months. Very Happy

With regard to market there will be temporary fluctuations both up & down. But overall market market will move upwards in the medium term.

If someone expects the market to come down ASI 7,000 it will be a dream only. The best idea is to engage in short term trading specially these days untill the market get stabilised. Very Happy

So called opportunists attempt to highlight the cause for the market down trend today, as negative effects emerged from new presidential status. Perhaps, it may be the indecorous behaviour of certain group of manipulators who support former regime, to impair the popularity of newly elected parties.

Unfortunately, they are still not capable of realising the validity of superior choice of people.
Most likely, as a result of continuous uppish movement in past weeks, market is exposed to the balancing of overbought situation or technically called market correction. This is observable after few days of trading, when support levels are reached. It is further said that Western investors are eyeing on our capital market, as they feel more comfortable with current regime, hopefully flowing a considerable amount of foreign direct investment.
